My journey with GigZoo commenced with extensive in-person research, aimed at understanding the needs of both talent and prospective customers.

The research was conduced as in depth interviews with creators and prospective talent bookers.

We were on the verge of launching GigZoo, an in-person entertainment booking platform when the pandemic struck, forcing us to rethink our approach.

The pivot to Thrillz was inspired by the success of similar tech and UX opportunities in the US, notably Cameo.

Our objectives evolved with the pivot.

We aimed to create an innovative platform that would connect users directly with their favourite celebrities and offer a pseudo-in-person experience entirely online.

This required a swift transition from the GigZoo concept to Thrillz, adapting and extending existing tech and product assets.

Our journey began with comprehensive research and customer journey mapping under the GigZoo banner.

We collected valuable feedback from talent and customers at every stage, ensuring our ideas and assumptions were validated.

This user-centric approach played a pivotal role in shaping the Thrillz platform.

We embarked on a process that involved everything from Customer Journey Mapping and Low-Fi/High-Fi Wireframes to polished responsive UI designs.

While designing, we considered the evolving landscape of the digital entertainment industry and the changing needs of performers and creators.

Rapid Pivot: We successfully pivoted the tech and designs from GigZoo to launch Thrillz as a new product swiftly. This agility allowed us to adapt to the rapidly changing market and cater to the growing demand for online entertainment.

User Growth and Funding: Thrillz secured £1.3 million in funding and witnessed impressive Month-over-Month (MoM) growth of 167%. This growth was fuelled by the platform's ability to enable creators and celebrities to commercialise via fan engagement, corporate partnerships, and exclusive content.

Transforming the Creator Economy: Thrillz played a significant role in transforming the creator economy. It became a rapidly growing marketplace for creators and celebs to monetise their talent, offering a range of services from custom video messages to commercial endorsements. Their revenue model, taking a 25% cut of bookings, proved to be successful.

The pivot from GigZoo to Thrillz was a testament to adaptability and innovation in the face of unprecedented challenges.

We successfully navigated the shifting landscape of the entertainment industry, connecting users with their favourite celebrities and enabling creators to monetise their talent.

I was also responsible for the mentorship and coaching of 1 junior Product Designer during my time working with Gigzoo / Thrillz.
